Biography

A Southern California native, Alex Henry grew up in Los Angeles where she double majored in Art History and Classics & Archeology at Loyola Marymount University. Attending the University of California, Riverside she completed her MA in Art History, with an Early Modern focus, after completing her thesis "Christian Architecture Within the Kingdom of the Kongo: A Case Study of the Igreja de Jesus". With a background in African and African American Studies as well, she is dedicated to investigating cross-cultural ties within the Atlantic sphere and beyond. She has also worked for a variety of well-known institutions such as the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles, the California African American Museum, and the California Botanical Garden.
